Resurfacing of an existing hockey pitch with a new sand dressed carpet.

Issues

The foundations were found to be of a dynamic construction which prevents heavy equipment being used; Solution was to remove the base stone and replace it with an MOT type 1, followed by a 40mm tarmac engineered base, overlaid with a rubber in-situ shock pad and a top dressed Triger Turf EvoPro carpet. Other works included re-lamping with LED bulbs to give 350 Lux, New player shelters and hockey goals.

Real grass or artificial – which is best?
